Factory Worker, No Credit Card β Can I Buy a New Phone? Yes in Malaysia

Working at a factory, no credit card β can I still buy a new phone?
Yes. Really, yes.
I know a lot of people have searched this question, clicked into the results, seen a wall of English terms, or been asked to pay an upfront deposit, or "credit card required to apply" β and just closed the tab.
What AnsuranPhone does is give this group another path. From RM1,200 monthly salary, no credit card, zero deposit, take a phone home on installment. Let me break the whole thing down.
Are You Eligible?
The conditions aren't complex. Run through this:
Malaysian citizen, blue IC (red PR doesn't qualify, take note). 18 or older. Worked at the same factory for over 3 months β not 'across multiple factories', but the same one, continuous 3 months. Monthly salary RM1,200+, including fixed allowances and fixed OT. But the word 'fixed' matters β variable OT that changes shift to shift can't be counted.
A common question: My salary is RM1,500-2,500, can I get approved?
Yes. This range is actually the smoothest-approving band among factory workers. What matters isn't gross salary, it's net salary β what you actually take home after EPF, SOCSO, tax β and whether your chosen monthly installment is reasonable against that. I'll cover this below.
3-Shift Workers β How Do You Submit Documents? Don't I Need to Visit?
You don't.
This is the part most people overlook. 3-shift workers rotate between day shift, night shift β when would you have time to make a special trip to the store? So the application is fully online β
You just snap clear photos of your IC (front and back) plus your latest payslip (phone camera is fine, no scanner needed), WhatsApp them to our team. That's it.
After submission you'll get a response within 7 working days. Approved β set a time to visit the store and collect. Not approved β we'll tell you why, not just go silent.
After night shift, while catching up on sleep during the day, just send it from your phone. No leave needed, no special trip out.
How to Pick a Phone β Models That Actually Fit
Flagships look great, but pushing your monthly too high isn't worth it. For a factory worker's pay structure, here are some that fit:
Samsung Galaxy A16 5G, monthly from RM39 (36 months). Samsung brand, enough performance, battery survives heavy 3-shift use. For a first-time installment buyer, the mental load is light.
OPPO A6 5G, monthly from RM53 (36 months). Camera in this price range is genuinely good, fast charging, popular with female workers. Scrolling short videos, WhatsApping family β more than enough.
Redmi Note 15 5G, monthly from RM51 (36 months). Big screen, stable battery, friendly price. Many warehouse staff and line operators pick this as their first installment phone.
Honestly, all three I'd recommend to my own family β not because they're the priciest, but because they're enough to use and the monthly installment won't crush you.
How Much Monthly Is Safe?
A rough rule: 15% to 20% of net salary is a comfortable installment range.
Example: salary RM1,500, after EPF + SOCSO, net is around RM1,300. So a monthly installment between RM195-260 is steady.
On tenure β pick 36 months for the lowest monthly. Same phone, 36 vs 12 months, the difference can be RM100-200 per month. If money's tight right now, take 36 months, ease the monthly load β nothing embarrassing about it.
Chasing flagships is one thing. Getting a headache every month when the installment hits is another. Buy within means. A phone you can actually enjoy using is the only kind that counts.
FAQ
What is the minimum salary?
RM1,200, with fixed allowances and fixed OT counted in.
I'm part-time or paid daily. Can I apply?
Not at the moment. We currently only accept fixed-employment applicants with monthly payslips. Part-time or daily-pay structures can't be used to assess repayment capacity, so this line can't be accommodated for now.
How should I prepare the payslip? My salary varies month to month.
If your salary fluctuates due to shifts or allowances, prepare 2-3 months of payslips and upload them together. We'll look at the average, not just the highest month. IC front and back plus payslip photos β clear phone photos are enough.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Zero deposit. No upfront payment needed to apply.
I have a past loan record. Can I still apply?
You can submit an application. The outcome depends on individual credit status. We don't reject outright, but approval isn't guaranteed either.
Application is simple: WhatsApp us, send IC and payslip, wait for our response.
Through the whole process you don't need to take leave or dress up to wait at a store.
Which model, how many months, what monthly β you can ask before applying. Our team will calculate it for you.
