Applying for a Student Phone Installment? Here's What Documents You Need First

Before you WhatsApp us to apply for a student phone installment, get these 4 things ready: a copy of your MyKad, your university student card, a proof of enrollment letter or course registration slip, and make sure you're 18 or above. That's it — no payslip, no bank statement needed for the Student Plan. With all four ready, approval usually takes just 1–2 working days.
What documents do you need to prepare?
In short, this is all you need:
- A copy of your MyKad (IC).
- Your university student card.
- A proof of enrollment letter or course registration slip.

1. Copy of your MyKad
A clear scan or photo of your MyKad — the front side is enough, as long as your IC number and name are readable, not glared out by camera flash, and not cropped at the edges. Common mistake: a blurry photo taken in a dim room, or camera flash reflecting straight onto the IC number. Use your phone's scanner app if you can, instead of just snapping it — that way we can verify it on the first try.
2. University student card
This is the official student card issued by your university — with your name, matric number and the institution's logo. Common mistake: first-year students whose physical card hasn't arrived yet (still being processed), or final-semester students whose student card has already expired. In both cases, you can use a proof of enrollment letter or course registration slip (the next item) instead.
3. Proof of enrollment or course registration slip
This proves you're actually studying this semester — not the offer letter you got when you were first accepted into university. An offer letter only shows you were accepted, not that you've registered and are currently studying. You can usually download your enrollment letter from the student portal, or request one from the student affairs / academic office; a course registration slip works too, and it's issued when you register your subjects for the semester. 4. Be 18 or above
The basic requirement for the Student Plan is that you must be 18 by the time you apply. This is a hard requirement. If you're not 18 yet, feel free to WhatsApp us with any questions.
What you don't need to prepare
This is the part that usually puts students at ease:
- No payslip needed. The Student Plan doesn't check your income at all. If you genuinely don't have a fixed income right now, read the full explanation here.
- No guarantor needed. You apply on your own with the student documents above — no need to rope in a parent or friend.
- No credit card needed. Not having one isn't a problem.

Do students need a payslip for a phone installment?
No. The Student Plan doesn't ask for a payslip — just your MyKad, student card and proof of enrollment.
My student card has expired, can I still apply?
